Shove Ha'Penny No.48

Now this is a redefining design from the previous Ha’Penny sets. A slightly longer solid oak board has a sliding purpleheart and bog oak compartment at the top to house the brass scoring pegs, five original half penny coins (d. 1967) and baby blue brass line checker.

Three peg placements on each of the players nine scoring lanes. The brass pegs are a joy to handle.

In true competitive spirit there are also three holes just below the rosewood coin stopper on each side of the board to place the brass pegs marking sets won by each side.

Shove Ha'penny is a true British pub game classic that dates back to the middle ages. It's both challenging and entertaining, with skilful yet simple gameplay. It is therefore suitable for children and adults and is enjoyed both casually at home or in pubs and more seriously in tournaments, leagues and competitions.
